MENTAL MENDING
Aspirants while preparing for UPSC undergo a lot of stress, pressure of studies, demotivation, Mental Health issues, which are a scourge for success.
Therefore, we organise Mental Health sessions with experts to provide them a platform to talk about such issues they face.
“Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It's about how you drive, not where you’re going.”

the First Webinar session on #MentalMending was organised, with IAS Anand Sharma as the speaker, and the topic of the discussion, primarily focussed on,
“How to maintain mental health and motivation during UPSC preparation?’’

1.To discuss the ways to maintain good mental health and motivation during UPSC preparation.

NOTES
The session was short, precise and productive one.
• How to cope up with stress?
Ø Strong Mental Health is important.
Ø Don’t get stressed seeing achievement of other people, learn from them.
Ø Plan weekly or monthly schedule.
Ø Talk to people who are optimistic in nature.
Ø Do Exercise daily, running.
Ø Listen music, do dance.
Ø Develop a hobby and give it an hour daily.
Ø Don’t think about end result, give your best.
v How to deal with failures?
Ø Have a positive perspective that you gave your best.
Ø Introspect after the exam, what mistakes you have committed, how to improve them.
Ø Talk to someone who is experienced, or your seniors or anyone who has passed the examination.
Ø Don’t feel demotivated, think about future and keep on going, don’t stop.
Ø Work on your weakness, try to improve yourself.
Ø UPSC is not the only option, many ways to provide service to nation.
Ø Don’t loose confidence. Hard work always pays off.
Ø Try to look what UPSC expects from you.
· What to do to have strong mental health?
Ø Prepare well set routine.
ü Follow it.
ü Set target everyday and try of achieving it.
ü Try to stick to the schedule.
Ø Maintain balance between family, friends and studies
ü Can Watch movie in every 15 days or once in a month.
ü Can go for dinner with friends once in a month.
ü Take short breaks ,will increase your productivity.
ü Spend time with family.
Ø Develop a hobby
ü Spend half an hour daily.
ü Can run, walk, dance, play any game or sports. It will refresh your mind.
ü Start exercising daily to have good physical health.
· What are the fears aspirants experience during preparation of exam and how to tackle it?
Ø Worst fear is if I don’t get selected, what will happen?
How to tackle?
ü Don’t think about it.
ü There are 50-50 chances of getting selected.
ü Don’t afraid.
ü This is not the end point.
ü Many options are there.
ü Take this exam as a challenge.
Ø Take others achievement as motivation rather than fear. Talk to them, learn from them.
· For personality Development
Ø Participate in extra-curricular activities, debates, cultural events.
Ø Read newspaper.
· How to stay concentrated, disciplined and avoid overthinking, negativity?
Ø Talk to people who are constructive in opinions, criticism about you.
Ø Prepare with someone who is more focused and goal-oriented, disciplined.
Ø Discuss with your colleagues and friends about your strengths and weaknesses.
Ø Keep all distraction away.
Ø Remove social media accounts to avoid negativity.
